Band name:
RED DEATH

Date & location formed:
Red Death was formed in October 2013 in the dining room of The Newton house in Washington, D.C.

Reason for forming:
The band was created by four roommates who liked hanging out, eating shitty food and talking about music. We reached our peak when we got the neighbor to cuss us out in the middle of a snowstorm and call the cops. (Cheers)

What are your lyrics about?
“Acidic chaotic genocidal war torn freak outs. I used to play fucked up evil ass ‘last man standing’ style games with my toys when I was a kid. Real bloody and gory and no holds barred. Now I just sing about it.” —DHD

How would you describe your sound?
We sound like a mix of C.O.C., The Accüsed, Cro-Mags, Discharge, vine compilations and all things punk.

What is the future for this band?
Red Death will record an LP called Permanent Exile for Grave Mistake Records (USA) and Hardware Records (Europe). We’re going to do a Southeast tour in late February, full USA tour with The Flex in April, and a European tour in summer 2015.

Band name:
FISCAL CLIFF

Date & location formed:
We first formed last year in Oakland as a two piece, but we really became a complete unit when Nicole joined the band five or so months ago.

Fiscal Cliff

Reason for forming:
For the sake of rocking out.

What are your lyrics about?
Isolation, paranoia, New-Age, Southern California Gurus, and desolate suburban towns off Highway 80.

How would you describe your sound?
We like to jangle, but also enjoy getting loud, dancey, and head-bangy. People tell us we sound like a different band at every show and some comparisons are more baffling than others.

What is the future for this band?
Our guitarist just moved to Philadelphia, so we won’t be playing as much for a while—but, we just recorded a new 4-song EP that we’re planning on releasing soon. There also may be some wintertime shows in the works!
