Omtzigt Kommando KGB EP

“There must be something in the water” is a pretty tired cliche, but whatever, I’m going to use it here. What is in the water in Haarlem? The hardcore scene there is really coming up, as evidenced by ripping slabs from the likes of TRAUMATIZER and INSIDE JOB coming across my review pile in the past few weeks. Next up is OMTZIGT KOMMANDO, a total unit of a band influenced by equal parts ’10s USHC and ’80s Swedish hardcore (as evidenced by the gnarly SHITLICKERS cover at the end of this EP). I was expecting some Oi! based on the cover, but this ain’t that. Fast and reckless with burly vocals mixed right in the middle of the chaos, this shit slaps. Highly recommended, and further evidence that you should be keeping an eye on the Haarlem punk scene.
