Lost Legion In My Skin LP
This is a killer compilation of singles, demos, and unreleased tracks from one of Chicago’s most prolific Oi!/punk bands of the last decade. Existing fans will love having all these tracks in one place while newcomers will get a taste of the auditory evolution of the band through twenty tracks, running the gamut between Oi!, post-punk, and ’77-style street punk. Standouts for me are the danceable “Stuck in One Place” (trust me, it takes a lot to get a caveman like me to move, but this song does it) and the lo-fi riff-raff of “Dressed Up Like a Warrior” which makes me want to fuck shit up. The vocals are gruff, the guitar work is killer, and the message is well-received. LOST LEGION is great at crafting genuinely catchy songs that have substance and meaning. That’s a rare feat, and this collection has me stoked to see how they evolve over the next decade. Highly recommended.
