Coeur Chamade Coeur Chamade cassette
Hailing from Brittany, France, COEUR CHAMADE’s debut features five songs of melodic post-punk with an artsy undercurrent. The vocalist has a pleasingly subdued delivery that compliments the often meandering guitar lines. I’m reminded of LA FRACTION if they embraced a more laid-back indie approach. The songs are well-crafted, and I suspect that the members have played in bands that would be recognizable, though I couldn’t dig up any evidence to connect that assertion to reality. Regardless, this cassette is a good jumping-off point for a group with demonstrable potential.
