FALSE FLOWERS from Sacramento followed up their self-titled mini-LP from last year with a fresh single and an ADAM & THE ANTS cover this year. Lyrically, “Secret Futures” questions the authenticity of contemporary life while instrumentally walking a tight line between goth, new wave, and ’77- era punk. Haunting yet catchy, “Secret Futures” is a great single on its own, but to back it up with a raucous cover of “Beat My Guest” really sets the tone for what FALSE FLOWERS is about.
