Ka-Oh! Ka-Oh! cassette
OH! This is absolutely lovely. Very FUGAZI/HAPPY GO LICKY-coded—the classic post-hardcore sound of noodly, dissonant guitar riffs, wandering bass lines, and syncopated drums that keep everything wrapped up in a nice little package. The singer has the standard Guy Picciotto energy that you typically see with these kinds of acts, but they have their own spin to it, adopting more of a hoarse barking style as opposed to Picciotto’s sinister hissing. Maybe that’s because it’s all sung in German. Everything sounds aggressive in that language. This is really fantastic stuff and a must-listen for anyone who grew up loving the DC sound.
