Left Off God Hates Flags CD
There is a charm and earnestness to this tape that I haven’t heard in a long time. The recording sounds like it was done in a bathroom by a buddy, the musicianship is sloppy and earnest, the lyrics are perfectly in time with the music, and the message is standard. All of it, the entire package, is what makes me love this so much. The songs themselves are pretty basic and mid-tempo in that punk lane. Through the speakers, I can feel how amazing it feels to be in a room playing music with good pals. I am certain that the longer this band stays together that they will become better songwriters, hone their lyrics, and develop a polished, cohesive sound and overall become a much better band. However, this first effort might be the punkest thing I’ve heard in a while.
