Merienda 1243 cassette
After practicing just a handful of times over the course of the spring of 2024, three Berliners got together for a single loose recording session. The result is this four-song cassette of shouty but melodic Spanish-language punk. Three of the four tracks are mid-tempo numbers that remind me of late ’70s/early ’80s West Coast punk—maybe something in between the AVENGERS and RIKK AGNEW—and the other is more of a monophonic dirge. You can tell these folks are having a good time, and the tunes’ tossed-off nature makes for a compelling listen. Probably not essential, but still worth your while.
