On rare occasions, punk gives you what you need instead of what you thought you wanted. SLUT INTENT’s 10” is one of those occasions, and their discordant, intense hardcore is going to spend some serious time living rent-free in my brain. There are moments like “Glitch” and “Girls Night” where I feel like they could stand alongside SNAPCASE and BOTCH, but the thing about SLUT INTENT is that they don’t stand alongside anyone—they stand alone. This is advanced and complex thinking punk. “But the taste of spite in my mouth / Keeps me going long enough to remind them / That if they’re going to balance every human need on a knife’s edge / They should remember it cuts both ways.” See, it’s not just the music, it’s everything. This band demands your attention, and they are more than worth it.
