Southpaw Longitude CD
SOUTHPAW is doing everything right when it comes to what they are doing, perhaps. If you are into more of later-period SAMIAM, and what I think FARSIDE and SENSE FIELD prolly sound like, then you most likely will like this record a lot. SOUTHPAW’s songs are tight with personal and introspective lyrics that I am certain get the fists pumping and the crowd singing along. Musically, it sometimes reminds me of maybe AUTOGRAPH or early/mid-period DOKKEN on a couple songs, while still having that “foot on the monitor and singing out over the crowd” quality. I have no doubt a young person will discover this Longitude CD, or have SOUTHPAW be their first show, and SOUTHPAW will become their new favorite band, and Longitude will become their way to break into the punk underground. Be sure to check them out if they are playing near you.
