Buffalo must have some gnarly punk virus in the water supply—SCIENCE MAN, HAVANA SYNDROME, and FOOT FETISH, to name just a few of the current crop of punk freaks from western New York’s gritty hardcore haven. SVS rips through nine cuts of USHC-tinged punk that keep the riffs in-your-face, with a few hints of nuance and just the lightest shade of melody. Prime example of how songs can be catchy without a pop infusion. They don’t sound much like POISON IDEA, but the vibe ain’t so different. The longest track doesn’t cross the two-minute mark. No reason to belabor the point: this is a properly killer demo.
