The Jaggernauts / The Known Unknowns Meet Skeleduck / Intel 101 split EP
Ah yes, my greatest nemesis: bands releasing a split album and then parsing the whole thing between two separate Bandcamp accounts, defeating the purpose of doing a split in the first place. This kind of thing gets under my skin so much that I was hoping I’d hate this slab, but I am disappointed to report that I actually kind of like it. The JAGGERNAUTS have two songs on their side: “Skeleduck,” a track that brings to mind a much more light-hearted ANTISEEN, and the punk epic that is “I Won’t Go Back,” chock-full of scorching guitar solos and soaring gang vocals. The KNOWN UNKNOWNS’ side only features one track, “Intel 101,” and it reminds me of a more sinister DEVO mixed with POOPY NECROPONDE. Yeah, damn. This thing rules. Wisconsin is full of hidden punk gems.
