William H. Michael Jazz Destroyer LP
Outta Cleveland, OH comes Jazz Destroyer by WILLIAM H. MICHAEL, hitting equal parts X (See How We Are-era), MOVING TARGETS, maybe even a little DEAD KENNEDYS here and there, and some of those melodic, mid-to-fast-tempo alternative/college rock bands that have a slightly darker tint. Start to finish, this is a great rock punk record that had a transportive effect on me, sending me back to the mid-to-late ’80s of videotaping 120 Minutes every Sunday night and being tired all Monday at school. I bet he woulda played by me and I woulda been too young to get into the bar and WILLIAM H. MICHAEL would have seen me sulking outside the venue and he’d have given me a CD and a three-quarter sleeve Jazz Destroyer T-shirt.
