Clean Needle Nazi Stomper EP

I am not often taken by surprise when it comes to raw punk music, and I always manage to conceal it whenever I am so as not to spoil my cool blasé look, but CLEAN NEEDLE is a pretty good surprise. It is a one-man hardcore operation from Texas as I understand it, and this is the project’s first vinyl output after a couple of tapes. Unsurprisingly, the main focus is to unleash raw (and I mean proper raw), direct, and fast ’80s hardcore punk for the unwashed. The vibe is clearly old school, especially on the fastest (and best) numbers, while others can be said to be more pogo-oriented and spikier. A fan of CHAOS UK would enjoy this a lot, I reckon, and because of the organic, primitive sound (not to mention the visuals), you could be tricked into believing that CLEAN NEEDLE is a much older project than it actually is. The vocals are very gruff however, to add some extra aggression I presume, but I don’t think it works well with every song. A very fun EP on the whole.
