Band name:
PROM NITEprom nite

Date & location formed:
October 2015. Toronto, ON.

Reason for forming:
We either wanted to play in more active bands, or hadn’t played in bands before. Sought the opportunity to create new music with new people in the Toronto scene.

What are your lyrics about?
Mental health, self care, fuckboys being fuckboys. Sometimes playful and sometimes honest.

How would you describe your sound?
Toronto’s most punk sounding punk rock band. Real rock.

What’s in the future for this band?
Performing more shows locally. We released a five song demo cassette in November. We’ll be putting out a single and another EP in 2016. Hopefully we’ll make it outside of Ontario.

Social isolation, toxic hostility, nihilism

How would you describe your sound?
Punk

What’s in the future for this band?
We are playing Midwest Blood Fest in New Albany, IN in February. In March we are touring to and playing Everything Is Not O.K. 2 in Oklahoma City with Lemonade (Minneapolis) After that we plan on touring the U.S. and releasing a few records starting with a 7″

Band name:
MACE Logo

Date & location formed:
Around summer 2015 I guess? We’re from Chicago.

Reason for forming:
Chapman (guitar) and Harold (bass) are childhood friends and have played together before. Chapman knew Chris (drums) and they started practicing together and then around summer I joined because I really wanted to do vocals in a band again.

What are your lyrics about?
Some are about having post-traumatic stress disorder, “Predator” is about confronting/kicking out people at shows who are there seemingly solely to ruin everyone else’s good time. A lot of the songs are about people talking down to me, over me, tone-policing me and so on because it’s been a theme for me even from Good Punks who think they’re better than talking down to a woman, a survivor, etc.

How would you describe your sound?
Nü tough guy hardcore.

What’s in the future for this band?
We have a song coming out on a flexi with the 2nd issue of No Friends Zine, playing some fun shows, and hopefully writing another demo or 7″ worth of material to tour with when the weather is nicer.
