Being pissed off, Personal issues, etc.

barbed-wire-500x12

Band name:
ZRADA

Date & location formed:
We were formed in Kharkiv, Ukraine, at the end of 2013 – beginning 2014.

Reason for forming:
We used to be in different bands which sound pretty differently and with this new band we wanted to play hardcore, the way we understand it. Angrier, shorter, with interweaving threads of punk.

ZRADA

What are your lyrics about?
Lyrics is about feelings and emotions which often replace and complement each other. Good and bad. Trust and betrayal, expectations and frustration, aggression and anger control, pain and hope, despair and self-confidence.

How would you describe your sound?
We call it Kharkiv Hardcore. It’s based on old-school hardcore with maybe a bit of NYHC and spiced up with punk rock.

What’s in the future for this band?
We finally got our first 7″ out after unbearable long wait. And now we are working on our first European appearance which is planned for April, mainly in Poland. And second European tour some time in July-August where we’re planning not only to play shows but also to speak up about events in Ukraine — the war unleashed by Russian imperialism. Thanks to some stupid Stalinists in the scene and other sick folks with USSR-nostalgia many European left-wing people support anti-Ukrainian sentiments. Such pro-Kremlin lobbyists promote the idea that whole Ukraine is a fascist state and only true antifascists are those terrorists and Russian mercenaries and regular army forces of Russia, which annexed the Crimea and invaded some parts of Eastern Ukraine. We as antifascists want to convey our point of view and explain that those Russian-backed “freedom fighters” on the East of Ukraine have nothing to do with antifascism but strictly with Russian imperial conquest.
